General update on Life

It has been quite some time since my last post. A lot has been going on and I have gotten sidetracked from writing. I decided to write a general post to update you all on what has been going on the last few months. I hope you are all enjoying your summer now that it has finally arrived.

Since I last posted, we have decided to host another child this upcoming school year. For those of you who may not know, we took a year off after hosting consecutively for three years. My health has been a big concern to my husband and he didn’t feel I needed an addition to my plate. Hosting is such a fantastic and rewarding experience though and I truly missed it last year. Our biggest reason this year for hosting though, was our son. We have always hosted girls in the past and this year we will be hosting a boy. We felt that with my husband traveling so much for work and my son spending much of his time with myself and his sister that it might be nice for him to have a big brother. He has been begging us to host a boy for a few years now and we felt that it would be very good for him to have another boy around. He has already formed a bond with our incoming son and they chat regularly and are looking forward to meeting when he arrives in August.

My health has not seen much change since my last post. I was hoping that with warmer weather I would have less joint pain but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. My injections are still helping but not as much as I had hoped that they would. I am having quite a lot of back pain again also and am being referred back to the neurosurgeon. They are concerned I may have damaged disks again. On a positive note though, my bloodwork has been showing no further changes which means no further organ involvement from my the Sjogren’s. This is a huge blessing and I can only hope this will continue.

In random news, we recently and finally put up a flagpole in our front yard which makes me smile every time I see it and know that my Grandfather would be proud. Our chocolate lab, Ruger, will be a big one year old on the 18th!! Both of the kids made high honor roll again and received awards at the academic banquet. Chad and Ryan have been doing a lot of mechanic work together lately and are restoring an antique garden tractor that Ryan plans to use for tractor pulls coming up soon. Karis is taking gymnastics now and has almost mastered her front and back walkovers and has moved on to back handsprings. We all have a lot to be thankful for and continue to count our blessings with each new day.

I am going to try to commit to writing more so stay posted for more posts. For now it is 2:00am and as much as I am a night owl, I should probably head to bed. I’ll share more thoughts soon:)
